Walking and trekking in Madeira - Pico Arieiro to Pico Ruivo
This pure mountain path, partly paved, connects two of the highest peaks of Madeira through its central range. At the same time sinuous, irregular and cumulating a lot of elevation difference positive and negative this route is physically demanding and is thus addressed to informed walkers.
However, the effort is rewarded by magnificent landscapes composed by, the rock formations whose ridges sometimes appear above the clouds giving the impression of being on top of the world, the small villages housed in the valleys, the vision at far from the island of Porto Santo and the tip of St Laurent.
